Flight planning as a student pilot can be quite time consuming. One is mainly dealing with the preparation of the operational flight plan (OFP), mass and balance calculations, and performance calculations prior to the flight. During the last years several tools have been created to automate the flight planning process, i.e. to do mass and balance, operational flight plans and performance automatically. Usually, it has been possible to reduce the required time for flight planning by a factor of two.
Several tools for OFP and mass and balance creation are existing or can be made easily by oneself, but the performance calculations were lacking automation. A manual readout from the handbook was needed. Therefore, the app aircraft performance has been created, which helps pilots since years.
